Spiritual wellness

Wellness has physical, mental/intellectual, emotional, social, environmental and spiritual components.

Spiritual wellness is the state of harmony among human.  It is the ability to balance inner needs with the demands of the rest of the world. Spiritual wellness combines a person’s ethics, values and morals. This component is what gives meaning and purpose.

Spiritual wellness provides the basis for an operational definition of the key measurable aspects of spirituality.

According to Westgate in 1996, the term spiritual wellness had its origins in the medical wellness movement, where wellness is summarized as the optimum integration of the various dimensions of human functioning, including spirituality.
